Bishop
Otto Hines was born in Washington, D.C. to Otto and Phyllis Hines. At the
age of 13, and as a member of the Bibleway Ministries, Otto Hines was filled
with the gift of the Holy Ghost. At this point God began to reveal to him,
as well as others, the plan that He had predestined for his life.
At the age of 15, he was led to resign from Bibleway Ministries and join the Pentecostal Church of Deliverance in Baltimore, Maryland, under the leadership of Pastor Marie E. Brice. God began calling him to sacrificial consecrations that included fasting, and laying prostrate before the Lord on his bedroom floor. He accepted the call to the office of Associate Minister at the age 18.
It was shortly thereafter that he was to meet his lifetime companion Sister Towanda. Otto and Towanda were wed in April of 1988 and from that union they were blessed with four children: Lee Walker-Hines, Chaz, Otto Jr., and Nicole.
After serving faithfully in various ministries within the Pentecostal Church of Deliverance Church; Minister Hines was appointed by Pastor Brice to assist in ministry at the Pentecostal Church of Deliverance Faith Center, in Atlanta, GA. In June of 1995 Minister Hines, along with five other church members, relocated to Atlanta to begin services in Decatur, GA. Minister Hines unwaveringly embraced the vision of his pastor. He served as an associate minister for two years and was later ordained as elder. Because of his faithfulness and service to the ministry, he was elevated to the office of assistant pastor. Through his ministry, the sick were healed. People were delivered and set free by the power of the Holy Ghost.
In August of 1999 Elder Hines, by divine instruction, was led of the Lord to begin another ministry. On September 5, 1999, the doors of Praise Temple of Deliverance Church were officially opened. It was in this place that God revealed His vision to this dynamic preacher of the gospel for the Praise Temple church family. Under the direction of the Holy Ghost, Praise Temple underwent a name change to its current name, Kingdom Building Worship Ministries.
Formerly affiliated with the Fellowship of Deliverance Churches (FODC) since 1999, Elder Hines was elevated once again to the office of District Elder of the Georgia Council of the FODC. God instilled into District Elder Hines a heart not only for sheep but a heart to counsel, mentor, and father pastors. District Elder Hines' God-given passion for developing healthy leaders was recognized. In recognition of God’s favor resting on District Elder Hines; the chief bishop of the FODC, Apostle Robert L. Vinson, ordained District Elder Hines into the office of bishop. Bishop Otto Hines served as the Georgia State Bishop for the FODC.
Understanding the need and having the desire to further is intellectual knowledge of the scripture and pastoral leadership, Bishop Hines enrolled in Beulah Heights Bible College and is currently seeking a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biblical Education. |
